Happy Easter!

It's Easter time - hooray!
That means a long weekend, which is my favourite kind of weekend.

Today I want to share with you an outfit, a hairstyle (kind of?) and an outfit in the making.
I've been feeling creative this weekend.. Or rather, I have an assignment due and therefore my procrastinator's brain thinks that this is the best possible time to give me ideas that MUST BE DONE NOW!
I am, after all, the queen of procrastination. I did however manage to trick myself into a bit of study today, thankfully.

Anyway! Enough with the blabbering and on with the pictures.

This was my outfit for today (Sunday). We went out to lunch with my family because it was my lovely mum's birthday (and, ya know, Easter).

Hair for today. I curled my hair with cloths (the cleaning kind) that I bought specifically for curling.
And here's the procrastination project! I cut out a half circle skirt and screen printed Tardis' all over it. So excited about it! Just waiting for the paint to dry and then I'll seal it with an iron, before sewing the skirt together.
There will be pics when it's finished!

Anywho,
better get onto my essay. Maybe.

Ka kite ano!

Outfits..

Took some outfit pictures for a thread on LHC, so thought I might as well post them here too!
I like wearing long skirts a lot, and it's not quite cold enough for jeans yet, so I've been wearing them to uni pretty much everyday.
These are from yesterday and today:

Top is actually pink, not orange! Damn you nighttime photos!

Rocking the homemade skirt, like a boss.

The second skirt I'm pretty proud of - I got the material from a second hand shop for $6. It's a half circle skirt. The red waistband ties into a pretty bow at the back, and I added buttons so that I can either wear it as a wrap skirt or button it back and wear a black skirt underneath, giving it a bustle-y kind of look. (As I said earlier, I'm a history nerd.)

Until next time!

Victorian/Edwardian pin curls/flipped cinnabun

Hey all!

Yesterday I re-hennaed my hair, so didn't really have it in any particular style (unless you count gladwrap as a style).
But today I was feeling creative. Last night I put my hair up in high pigtails and made pin curls all across the top of my head. I decided that I wanted to do something that felt Victorian, or Edwardian (because I'm a history geek, and am a little obsessed with incorporating elements of dress up into my everyday).
So, I grabbed two sections at the front of my face, as always, and pinned them back. Then I sectioned the middle/back of my hair and created a messy, flipped cinnabun - making sure to leave one curl out. The two side sections I then individually sectioned, pin curled and pinned them at the back above the flipped cinnabun. Finally, I took the curl that I left out of the middle section, lifted it and half pinned it to the cinnabun, leaving the end to fall over my shoulder.
Not entirely sure if those instructions make any sense.. but never mind.

And now.. the pictures!

I'm ridiculously pleased with the results!
Anywho, time for me to go.

Hopefully I'll be back soon with another style!
See ya x

5 Rope Rose Bun

Had lectures today so I wanted a style that was easy, pretty and that would last all day.
I've posted this style before, but I really like it a lot. I pinned the bun quite a bit lower on my neck this time.

Please excuse the end of the day messies.
Super comfy and quite pretty if I do say so myself!

Super annoying, as yesterday and the day before I had my hair up in Edwardian hairstyles - I wanted to take pictures but alas(!), I couldn't find the camera. Hopefully will be doing them again soon, and when I do I'll make sure to take pictures and post them here.

Until next time!

Long time no post..

We were without internet for a while, and now that I'm back at uni I haven't really found the time to post.

Each of these styles evolved from the first, TorrinPaige's "Whole Lotta Rosie".

The original
The "Jamie Leigh", made with the braid above.
Until next time!
